If the phrase “rustic charm” makes your eye twitch, you’re in the right place. If you love a rule break, a dark edge, and a wedding that actually looks like you, pull up a chair.

This is the Y’Alternative styled shoot for the Alt Wedding Fair - not your typical beige idea of what a cowboy wedding is supposed to look like. We are wedding stylists who firmly believe neutrals are optional.

So we set out to dismantle the traditional Western Aesthetic and rebuild it with attitude!

A Modern Western Wedding, Rewired

Set in the stunning venue, The Shack Revolution, we took traditional Western references and twisted them somewhere darker, sharper, and far more intentional.

This concept takes the bones of Western styling; raw wood, desert symbolism, rugged textures, and drags them into our little emo world.

As alternative wedding stylists, this is our bread and butter.

If it feels safe, then we’re not interested.

COLOUR THAT KICKS THE DOOR IN

Forest green. Mustard yellow. Burnt orange.

Let’s talk colour… because beige is banned in our presence.

Heavy, rich and moody!

This palette wasn’t here to “soften the space.” It was here to dominate it.

Colour should do something. It should punch you in the chest a little. That’s how wedding decor stops being background noise and starts becoming a vibe.

SNAKES, DISCO & BEAUTIFUL CONTRADICTIONS

This shoot lives for contrast. Rough wood paired with high-shine disco balls… because why choose one vibe when you can violently collide them?

Details mattered, and the details bit back. Gold snake accents slithered through the styling, adding a sense of luxury, and symbolism.

Snakes are bold, powerful, and a little uncomfortable and that’s exactly the point!

JUNGLE LIFE ALTERNATIVE WEDDING FLORALS

Enter jungle life florals, swinging in with full energy.

Lush, tropical, and absolutely not what you expect at a Western inspired shoot… and that’s exactly why they work!

Paired with gritty wood textures and mirrored disco balls, they created that delicious tension between wild and styled. If your florals don’t feel a little unhinged, we don’t want them.

SNAKE STATIONERY WITH A WARNING LABEL

If your stationery doesn’t set the tone, you’ve already missed a trick, and as Wedding Stylists, we’re absolutely not here for that.

Too often wedding stationery is treated like a box ticking exercise, but for us, stationery is the opening track on the album.

Clean, slick, and just dangerous enough to make guests realise they’re not attending a “normal” wedding.

It is the first impression, and this one says: you’re entering a world, not a venue.

One of the many ways we go beyond styling and straight into creation. I tap into my artistic side (even while aggressively doubting myself) to build one off pieces you won’t find anywhere else.
