Rock n Roll Wedding Inspiration: The High-Voltage Shoot We Styled at Glyn & Gander

  • 3 min read
Alternative rock n roll wedding inspiration and edgy gothic wedding styling elements at Glyn and Gander venue. High-contrast non-traditional wedding design ideas featuring a rockstar bride in an edgy white wedding gown with a thigh slit and embroidered Western cowboy boots, a vibrant floral crown, and red sunglasses. Showcase includes alternative tablescape design with matte-black industrial chains, clear candlesticks with black taper candles, and silver disco balls mixed with wild pink and orange dahlias in empty beer bottles and Tiny Rebel IPA cans. Features graphic alternative wedding stationery and signage by Poppy Kate Press, custom menu designs, unique cacti and carnivorous pitcher plants, and a cinematic wedding escape with a luxury vintage red Mercedes SL car and vibrant red smoke flares.

Let’s be completely real for a second: standard wedding traditions can be a bit... exhausting. The pastel pinks, the matching chair covers, the polite little setups that feel like they belong to someone else. If your wardrobe is mostly gig shirts, leather jackets, and Doc Martens, a cookie-cutter wedding is going to feel like wearing a costume. You want a day that feels less like a stiff formal dinner and way more like the ultimate VIP afterparty. If you’re ready to burn the traditional rulebook and throw a party people actually talk about, this shoot is your ultimate dose of rock n roll wedding inspiration.

The Venue: Glyn & Gander

To pull off a vision this loud, you need a space with a bit of grit and soul. We headed over to Glyn & Gander, and honestly, it’s a dream. With its raw wooden tones and exposed beams, it gave us the perfect moody canvas to just completely go to town with the styling.

Rock n Roll Wedding Inspiration: Chains, Cacti, & Too Many Disco Balls

Rosie and I didn’t want "pretty." We wanted a visual punch to the face.

For the "Headliners" Top Table, we threw out the standard linen runners and layered a raw, textured black fabric instead, draping heavy, matte-black industrial chains right off the edges. Instead of fancy crystal vases, we raided the recycling for empty beer bottles and vibrant red Tiny Rebel IPA cans to hold the flowers.

Speaking of the florals, Botanic Possessions and Emma at Ems in Bloom absolutely understood the concept. They put together these wild, chaotic arrangements packed with punchy dahlias and weirdly beautiful anthuriums. AND YES, OH YES! We decided that we did NOT want regualar glass bud vases we wanted pure eco friendly BEER CANs and BEER BOTTLES! Which is so fucking cool. I mean they are cheap - you just have to have a good couple of nights before your wedding, haha. And they come with really fun designs now. So you can pick them to match your colour palette if you wish. I also loved them as they were like a nod to that cochella, festiva vibe. Just a little perk of having a design stylist - we live and breathe this shit!

Outside, we set up a killer welcome moment. We propped a statement sign designed by myself, against a rustic barrel wrapped in more black chains. It literally read: “SH!T FINALLY IT’S OUR WEDDING DAY” with an AC/DC-style lightning bolt. Combined with floor florals and disco balls bouncing the light off the gravel, it basically tells your guests right away: yeah, we're here to party.

Rock n Roll Wedding Inspiration: Rebel Royalty

To bring the whole concept to life, our models brought pure rockstar attitude from head to toe.

The bridal look from Brecon Bridal Boutique was the perfect mix of high-fashion and total rebel. It’s this gorgeous, textured white gown with dramatic off-the-shoulder sleeves and a massive thigh-high slit—which was perfect for showing off a pair of white Western cowboy boots. We skipped the traditional veil entirely and went for a lush floral crown and a pair of bright red sunglasses instead.

The groom wore sharp black-tie tailoring from Dyfed Men's Wear, looking effortlessly classic next to her rock-chic energy.

For hair and makeup, Ellie Pearce and Samantha Price completely smashed it. They went for big, voluminous rockstar waves and a modern, sultry makeup look that held its own against all the bright, punchy decor.

The brilliant Lucy Harpur Gold was behind the lens capturing everything, and honestly, she completely nailed the high-contrast drama and vivid colors of the day.
